At the very least, I am proud of her for verbalizing that she was tired instead of just being a big, gigantic stubborn and insufferable turd of a human being, so that they knew to give her some space and not just talk to me about her "unwillingness to cooperate." But the tiredness is one of our biggest concerns as we get closer to Kindergarten (a lot of it is neurological fatigue, which can be hard to explain, and not as obvious as "I'm tired because I just ran ten miles"). We're going to try some new techniques with more breaks and some more snacks (she seems to be on another bender of a growth spurt) and see how next week goes. She got through OT today without too many battles, and then sort of slept this afternoon.
Because she knew if she slept, we could go to the playground. Except halfway to the playground we remembered that this time of year, the buildings on 6th Ave hide the late winter sun by 4:15... so we made up some elaborate and half-true story about how it was "dark" at the playground she wanted to go to (and therefore "closed"), and managed to convince her to just walk across the bridge and through the park.
They have closed the Cabrillo Bridge to traffic for "seismic retrofitting." We had to reassure her 239482985754 times that she could walk in the middle of the street safely, but just here, because it was closed.
Smirky snack break.
It is so warm outside, I've now REALLY lost track of the time of the year. And this dress? It's from H&M, and she's worn the you-know-what out of it, and it still looks great.
Although it's a lot shorter now.
Matt tore up some leaves and tossed them on the ground and he achieved his desired effect: The ducks were convinced she had food for them. Hilarious (even for her).
This is a slightly fascinating look at how much she's grown. The top picture is from mid-April 2013. The bottom one is from tonight.
Same stance, though, which I just noticed.
And then she INSISTED on walking the entire way home, so a half hour or so later we finally made it, and then she ate two burritos and a banana before we cut her off.
